Admission to Academic Units

Certification is the transfer of a student’s academic records from University Division to the school where the student has been admitted.

Three times a year (after fall, spring and summer II semesters) the UD Records Office examines the academic records of all University Division students who have formally declared a major to determine which students have met admission requirements for the schools of their declared majors. Upon determining that a student has met all requirements for admission to his/her school, the student’s academic records are then transferred to the respective school (Business, College of Arts and Sciences, HPER, etc.)

Certification to one’s school depends on the following factors: the intended major must be indicated on the student’s permanent record; all admission requirements for that program (minimum GPA, credit hours, required courses) must be met; if an application is required, the application must be filed by the required deadline and then admission is contingent upon that school’s approval. For more information, students should contact their University Division advisor.
