Exploratory Student Resources
Exploratory Student Resources is the University Division program for students who are exploring majors or confirming their major. Students who use the Exploratory Student Resources say the process of choosing a major is easy and fun. Through exploring, you will discover more about yourself, the academic majors and minors available at IUB, and career options after graduation. Exploratory Student Resources is available to help you find your way at Indiana University and discover the right paths for you.
Explore Your Options
University Division’s “Explore Your Options” is an eight week series of panel presentations for undergraduates featuring faculty and student perspectives on fields of study and special opportunities available at IU Bloomington. The series is designed to provide students with an opportunity to explore the options available to them on the Bloomington campus as they build and refine their academic plans. The presentations are free and open to all IUB undergraduates.
Each session features presentations and a Q/A session with professors and students working and studying in a specific field, including Business, Life Sciences, Arts, World Cultures, Education, Forensics, and more. See the Calendar for a complete list of this term’s offerings.
Career Reference Collection
The Career Reference Collection is an excellent resource for investigating educational and career options. The collection contains information about graduate school; study guides for the GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, and other exams; financial aid and scholarship information; guides to studying or working abroad; resources on internships; and resume and interview resources. The Career Reference Collection is located in Information Commons/Undergraduate Services in the West Tower of the Herman B Wells Library.
Career Development Center and College of Arts and Sciences Career Services
The Career Development Center and College of Arts and Sciences Career Services is a program that provides career development and job searching services for all IUB students. They organize career and internship fairs, employer information sessions, on-campus interviews with recruiters, and career development workshops. Additional services include drop-in and hour-long one-on-one career advising sessions, a library with over 1,000 books, access to online resources for jobs and internships, and three eight week courses on career exploration, portfolio design, and job search strategies.
Health Professions and Prelaw Center (HPPLC)
The Health Professions and Prelaw Center (HPPLC) is the unit of University Division that provides advising and other services for students who want to pursue careers in law, medicine, and other health professions. Students considering careers in these professions must excel academically and plan carefully. HPPLC works closely with IU students throughout their undergraduate years, and with IU alumni, to help them become thoughtful, well-prepared, competitive applicants to professional programs.
